Dermapen 4

What is Skin Needling?

Skin Needling, sometimes known as ‘Collagen Induction Therapy’ is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatment that helps to re-establish collagen and elastin and improve the appearance of scars and stretch marks.

Our skin needling device, the Dermapen 4 uses 16 microscopic needles to deeply penetrate the skin. The adjustable hand piece allows for a tailored treatment for each client’s specific skin concerns. As we age, our natural collagen production slows down resulting in fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores. Causing tiny micro punctures to the skin, we are stimulating skin cells within the dermis and epidermis to produce growth factors to improve and normalise various skin functions.

What does the treatment involve?

The skin is cleansed, and topical anaesthetic is applied and left on the skin for 30 minutes. The sterile skin needling device is then used to vertically penetrate the skin with micro needles that are 0.25mm to 2.5mm in length. Needle speed and depth are adjusted depending on the skin concerns being treated. The needling takes approximately 40 minutes and feels like a painless vibration on the skin. During treatment a topical Hyaluronic acid is infused throughout the treatment to boost your results and aid in the wound healing process. Immediately after the treatment you will notice a bright redness to the skin. On average, patients are red for 1-2 days. Minor skin shedding may occur 2-3 days post treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

We recommend a series of 3-6 treatment depending on your main skin concern.
